Mark shares Rita's thoughts on men
State higher education incentives should be based on market principles, says Michigan Sen. 9px; color: #977f46 ! Guest blogger Mark Raymond of Swartz Creek chimes in several times a week. So here's what happened: we refinanced the house this year in order to do two things: remodel the kitchen and take a special trip for our 25th anniversary. If you buy your husband or boyfriend a video camera, lock the bathroom door for the first few weeks. Men are very confident. My husband is so confident that when he watches sports on television, he thinks that if he concentrates really hard, he can help his team. If his team is in trouble, he...

Doping overshadows weightlifting again
Forgot Password? STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- The spotlight should be on the "Iranian Hercules," Turkey's "Little Dynamo" or China's prospects of winning 10 gold medals, one for each of its competitors.Instead, the sport of weightlifting yet again is sullied by doping scandals ahead of an Olympics.Bulgaria has withdrawn its entire team after 11 athletes tested positive for steroids, and Greece is only sending four competitors after 11 Greek weightlifters were suspended for doping. Both teams are repeat offenders. Politics and humor have a longstanding relationship
Not active. Not active. Q. What do you call George Washington's false teeth? Pardon the corn, but I'm practicing for Monday, Presidential Joke Day. Politics and humor go way back. The University of Wolverhampton, England compiled a list of the world's 10 oldest jokes, predating even George Burns. No. 2 in the list had political overtones. A 1600 B.C. comedian took on Pharaoh Snofru when he quipped: "How do you entertain a bored pharaoh? A sense of humor is an asset, when running for office or sorting candidates in the voting booth. Studies have proven that laughter has physical and mental benefits. A...
